By scheduling any services with Matthew Engel, you are stating that you understand and agree to the following policies:
Crisis Intervention: Matthew does not provide
crisis intervention services. If you are experiencing a life
threatening emergency or need to speak with someone immediately, please
follow one or more of the following protocols: Call a local
Crisis Hotline, call 911, call your health insurance company, proceed
to your nearest Emergency Room if it is safe for you to do so, or
pursue another safe & appropriate way of addressing the crisis.
No Liability Policy: Matthew Engel and Crystal Way/Center for Metaphysical Studies maintain a No Liability Policy whereby the consumer is solely responsible for his/her decisions, interpretations drawn from services, and all consequences resulting from them. Always use your best judgment and consult with appropriate experts before making any decision.
Purpose & Use of Services: Although many people find these services to be helpful, psychic/ intuitive/channeled readings, hypnotherapy, past life regression or other "alternative" services are not intended to replace formal and contracted medical or mental health services from an appropriately licensed practitioner nor are they intended to formally treat, diagnose, or cure any medical or psychological illness or disease.
Psychotherapy Verses Alternative Services: Matthew Engel is a California Licensed Psychotherapist (CA LCS #24169). Psychotherapy is a specific service that requires written consent for treatment that is mutually agreed upon between client and psychotherapist through a formalized treatment contract. Psychic/intuitive/channeled readings, counseling, coaching, hypnotherapy, and past life regression therapy are not psychotherapy. None of Matthew Engel's services constitute psychotherapy unless they are formally documented as such on his psychotherapy consent forms and paperwork. Obtaining psychic/intuitive/channeled readings, hypnotherapy, or past life regression therapy from Matthew Engel should not in any way be viewed or interpreted as psychotherapy. Utilizing Matthew's non-psychotherapy services does not imply that he will work with you in a psychotherapy arrangement in the future.
Adults Only: You must be at least 18 years of age to utilize any of Matthew's services.
Payment for Sessions: Full payment is required in advance for Matthew's services in order to reserve your time slot. If a special arrangement has been made for you to pay at the time of service (this would happen only under unusual circumstances), payment in full is required within seven days for any missed or canceled appointments without at least 36 hours advance notice by phone and a return call or email from Matthew to verify that he received your message.
Cancellations & Refunds: Refunds are not available for any of Matthew's services. Please be sure that your schedule works and that you're ready for a session before submitting a payment.
Rescheduling: In the event that you need to reschedule a session for which you have pre-paid, you must provide at least 36 hours advance notice by phone with a response from Matthew indicating that he received your message. In such a case, Matthew will gladly reschedule at a mutually convenient time. If you do not follow this protocol, your session will count as a "No show" and you will not be eligible to use that payment for a future session. If you suspect that you may need to cancel or miss your session, please call Matthew immediately. To avoid any mishaps with wrong numbers, muffled voice mail, or lost emails, you must receive a phone call or email from Matthew verifying that he received your cancellation message in order to avoid losing your payment or being billed for a missed/canceled session.
Fee for Rescheduling: As a courtesy, Matthew will allow one rescheduling of each appointment without charge for people who follow the protocols set forth on this page. A $10 fee will be charged for each time that you reschedule the same session after that. People who reschedule multiple sessions may be subject to a fee at Matthew's discretion.
Tardiness: If you are running
late for your session, Matthew will reserve it for up to 15 minutes.
However, the amount of time that you are late will be deducted from
your session. In other words, if you scheduled a 30 minute session
and you arrive 10 minutes late, you'll have 20 minutes remaining for
your session. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the session
will count as a "No Show" (missed appointment without advance notice);
your session will be canceled and you will not be eligible for a refund
or credit of any kind. If Matthew causes the session to start late, he
will offer to make up the lost time on that day or if necessary, at a
later time. If
he is running less than 15 minutes late, he will not reschedule your
entire session for a different day/time but will offer to make up the
lost time in some capacity at no additional charge to you. Although Matthew makes every effort to begin sessions promptly, please be patient if he is running a few minutes behind.
Payment for Classes & Workshops: Payment must be made in full no later than 48 hours prior to the start time of the first session. Enrollment is based on availability. If a class is full by the time your payment is received, it will be refunded to you. Due to space limitations and scheduling logistics, refunds for classes and workshops are not available. Please be certain that your schedule will allow you to attend before registering.
Additional Payment Info: A reasonable additional fee (determined by the banks involved) will be charged for any returned checks. Major Credit & Debit cards are accepted directly (on website) and via PayPal. Matthew does not take credit card information over the phone. This is for your protection.
Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are available for psychic readings! Gift Certificates will become void if a session is missed or canceled without 36 hours advance notice by phone and other rescheduling protocols outlined above are not followed. Repeated cancellations, even when given the required notice, may result in a voiding of a gift certificate at Matthew Engel's discretion. Please be certain that the recipient actually wants a reading! If that person isn't really interested or doesn't understand how to make use of a reading, the session probably will not flow.
Hypnotherapy Recordings: You should never listen to your Hypnotherapy recording while driving or engaging in any activity that requires attention and focus! If you lose your hypnotherapy CD, a replacement CD may be available for $12. if Matthew still has your recording on file. Matthew is not responsible for replacing lost CD's or for technological glitches when emailing an MP3 recording.
Right to Refuse Services: Based on his professional discretion, Matthew Engel maintains the right to refuse services to any person. In some cases Matthew may refer you to another practitioner if at any point he determines that he is not able to meet your specific needs.
