Economic Crisis…Or Mismanaged Spiritual Investments?
A Psychic
Perspective on the Economy & Politics
By Matthew Engel, Psychic-Channel
I had some difficulty coordinating with Spirit in writing
this month’s article. Perhaps
because Mercury is Retrograde.
Perhaps I was concerned about sounding preachy or coming across to you -
my readers - as if I were missing the issues. Perhaps I was too involved in my own stuff over the
last few weeks to connect with Spirit as deeply as I need to in order to
Channel something useful. Since I
wrote an article in September about Global Changes, I also didn’t want to be
redundant, but each time I’ve asked for Guidance, Spirit has come through with
a loud and clear statement that I must write about the Economic and Political
crisis in the U.S. at present. “People want to know more, Matthew,”
Spirit said. “They need to know more.
You’ve only just begun to channel the Higher Truth about current and
coming events on your planet.”
I’ve made great changes in my life and taken some significant risks when
prompted by Spirit to do so. Why
should a monthly article be written (or not) under a different set of rules? The majority of this article is
Channeled (as noted) and I was prompted to include some additional background
as a reference point. Although the
following two paragraphs may sound a bit negative, they are only setting the
backdrop for insight and guidance that follows.
Spirit: “The
citizens of your country fear that their economic stability is coming apart at
the seems. This is true. Yet it is also a misnomer. Reports that the economic market hasn’t
seen such a terrible downfall since the stock market crash of 1929 are rampant
in your media. This may be
true. But please do take a moment
and look back at history. For
history does tend to repeat itself through cause as well as effect.”
What caused the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the Great
Depression? Many people made
investments that were unsecured and uninsured. People with money looked for quick ways of making more money
– lots of it and quickly. New
technologies were being developed, cities were growing and everyone wanted a
bigger piece of the pie. Federal
regulations for banking, finance, and investing were minimal to none. Essentially, greed and oversight of the
longer-term risks for every day folks took over. More recently mortgage companies that offered jumbo loans at
historically low variable rates clearly failed their customers – as did the
federal government when it failed to regulate these loans. People who’ve invested large
percentages of their retirement funds in the stock market failed to listen to
age-old economic advice to diversify
their portfolios. Companies
that invested their employees’ financial future in the stock market did so
irresponsibly and the federal government did not regulate these larger scale
investments. Upper level mangers
of large banks that have closed their doors have made off with millions of
dollars and the federal government has done nothing but attempt to bail out the
investors thus allowing management to get richer while every day citizens pay
taxes on the bail out plan.
Clearly, there is a problem beneath the problem. In the meantime, the United States has
been spending approximately $85 million (or is it billion?) per day for years
to finance a war that the overwhelming majority of citizens (according to even
the most conservative polls) clearly state that they do not want. Why does the president have so
much power? And how can anyone
gripe over taxes when public schools are under-funded, public service workers
underpaid, and unemployment rising?
Many
readers already know all of this.
But why is it happening?
In my classes, workshops, and individual sessions, I
continue to talk about the fact that our planet is being prompted to evolve at
a more rapid-fire rate than ever before.
But Why?
Spirit: “Simply
put… Greed, hate, bitterness, lack of concern for the earth and our neighbors,
rampant fear, judgment, living under false and superficial pretenses, and
disconnect from Source (God) would at the rate they are operating lead to total
destruction of the planet and every living being in a historically short period
of time and life as we know it on this planet will come to an end…unless something changes.
We offer this statement not as a threat of doom, but rather as a way of reflecting the view of
planetary energy from above.
A basic
premise for change and healing requires that all negativity be purged out
(mirrored) so that human beings can see the problems for what they really are
in order to respond accordingly.
With this said, Dear Ones, you have many choices when faced with fear,
potential harm, and destruction: An increase in fear-based responses, anger,
bitterness, hopelessness, and judgment are but one set of choices. Love, living authentically, getting in
touch with what’s really important, reprioritizing, advocating peacefully for
change, making safe & healthy choices in your individual lives, connecting
with others who share your viewpoints to meditate and visualize a positive
outcome – healing and transformation of any negative feelings and behaviors –
are another set of choices. In order to heal, you must also dissolve
fear.
“But how can we do away with fear?” you ask. “Isn’t fear a
natural response to threat of destruction?” In order to answer that question, we must first define - or perhaps redefine - destruction.
Contrary
to your human belief structure, financial and emotional hardship, loss of
material security, dis-ease, and even physical death is not destruction. Every living being consists of
energy. It is imperative that we
remind you humans of this fact.
Everything that ever has lived and everything that ever will live exists
in the present. Time does not
exist on the “other side.” The
world is not linear but multi-dimensional. In other words, hardship does not equate to
destruction. Hardship is just that
– hardship - and it always presents an opportunity for growth – healing – if it
is utilized in such a way.
In the
wake of the current economic crisis, many people will lose some of their
monetary savings. Others will
regain their footing as the market ebbs and flows. Over the next 20 years, the social security system will be
revised and retired persons in need will become somewhat more supported by
government. Social security
payments will be based on a structure of financial need rather than earnings
during working years and greater efforts will be made in government to secure
this system.
For those
people losing money in the present, we would like you to know that there is a
great desire on the other side for you to be creative and to think outside of
the box in terms of how you generate income. Contrary to popular belief, retirement no longer has to mean
that people stop working altogether.
However, this work can become more heart-felt and creative. We would encourage many of you retirees
to consider some of the interests or hobbies that you have always had. Look at what inspires you and explore
opportunities for earning a little extra money by doing what you really love in
your ‘golden’ years. When you live
and create from your heart, work no longer feels like work. It boosts energy rather than draining it. Last month, this Channel wrote about
the impending evolutionary shift to a more heart-centered society. This “economic crisis” presents an
opportunity to grow and expand from loss, transforming it into something more
positive.
Other
people who lose financial grounding will be prompted to reevaluate what is
really important in their lives and how closely they identify with their
material possessions and the images associated with them. There is a difference between financial
security and excessive materialism.
Make no mistake, that we in Spirit hold no judgments against the
experience of enjoying material goods.
However, there is a fine line between enjoying these things verses
over-identifying with them. Threat
of war, new diseases, and natural disasters due to global warming will further
prompt many people to reconsider the Bigger Picture.
In supporting this shift and growth, we have no intention of creating
wide spread poverty. Such a
scenario will not happen. However, when stripped of some of the
perceived layers of material protection, there becomes an increased tendency to
look to Spirit – God – for support and Guidance…to deepen this connection, one’s
capacity for faith, humility, and a redefining of oneself in a different Light.
In
closure, we wish to impress upon you that you are and always have been
connected to the Light. You come
from the Light and it shines through you and of you. When feeling doubtful or afraid, simply look to your inner
Light, to God, and to each other and you will remember some of the truths that
you may have forgotten in the face of human hardship. Human beings have been blessed with free will, the capacity
to reason, to use creativity, imagination, and ingenuity. By allowing faith to blend with these
innate resources, you will always feel supported and you will continue to find
whatever solutions are needed. In
the process, you will inevitably replace your thoughts of fear with thoughts of
peace, love, fulfillment, and a newly defined state of prosperity. You are always supported and there is
tremendous effort coming from Spirit to support you in healing your planet
while transcending the individual and collective energy into a greater state of
brilliance.”
